As a nonprofit lending library open to the public that does not receive public funding, we rely on individuals like you to support our work so we can continue our mission: to ensure the LGBTQ+ community has continued free access to the latest digital and physical resources, and to support our collection development, programming that nourishes our community, and facility maintenance, we need your help. Your contribution ensures that the newest queer materials remain accessible, supports a welcoming environment for LGBTQ+ gatherings, and helps maintain our community space. Your support truly makes a difference!

Options for Giving
Since opening in 1986, the commitment of our donors and volunteers has made Quatrefoil Library a leading LGBTQ+ library worldwide. With no paid staff, we depend entirely on the efforts of our volunteers, from Board Members to desk workers. Your financial support is essential for sustaining our operations and securing our future.
Outside of using GiveMN, our secure online payment processor, you can set up payments according to your preferences through one of the options below. If there is another way you would like to give or you have any questions about donating, please reach out via email to treasurer@quatrefoil.org.
Corporate Giving
The Quatrefoil Library accepts donations from businesses. The library can provide your organization with any documentation you need in order to make a financial contribution.
The Quatrefoil Library would like to recognize the following corporations for their generous support:

Endowment Funds
You can make a significant impact by contributing to one of Quatrefoil Library’s endowment funds. If you are interested in donating to a specific fund, please contact treasurer@quatrefoil.org with details on which fund you would like to donate to.
Quatrefoil Library has set up four endowment funds to ensure its long-term sustainability, advance its mission, and support its expansion. These endowments offer essential additional funding for outreach programs not covered by other revenue streams, including annual contributions from our members and friends. You can also create a new, named endowed fund with a gift worth $25,000 or more.
David D. Irwin Fund
Honoring David Irwin, one of the library’s co-founders, this fund supports the maintenance and housing of the Library and can be used to cover expenses not funded by other sources.
Acquisition Fund
A donation to the Acquisition Fund helps us acquire patron-requested materials, hot-off-the-press publications, and replace missing or damaged items critical to our collection, keeping it current and reflective of our community.
Hengel Fund
This fund supports and maintains the acquisition and preservation of items in the Moving Images collections, enabling our patrons to see themselves represented and to explore a diverse range of productions, including international and independent films.
Scholarship Fund
Established in 2018, this fund provides tuition assistance to LGBTQIA+ students who are either preparing for college or already pursuing their undergraduate studies.

Workplace Giving
Giving at work is easy! The Quatrefoil Library is a member organization of the Community Shares of Minnesota. You can directly support the Library through weekly payroll deductions at hundreds of workplaces all over the Twin Cities and Minnesota. Check with your workplace giving coordinator to see if you have access to Community Shares of Minnesota.
If Community Shares of Minnesota isn’t at your workplace, you should ask your workplace giving coordinator if it could be included along with the other workplace giving options you have. We would be glad to help you with this and any other opportunities to give to Q Library at work.
Many employers will also match, double and, in some cases, triple an employee’s contribution to nonprofit organizations in the community. In most cases, the Quatrefoil Library is eligible for these funds. Check with your human resources department to see if your employer has such a program.
Follow Up When Giving
If you are making a donation to Q Library, whether an immediate or a planned gift, please be sure to specify if it is for a new or existing endowment fund, or for general operating expenses (wholly for current costs), or a combination. If it’s a combination, please specify purpose by dollar amounts or percentages. Amounts not clearly indicated will be directed to general operating expenses as this allows us to spend it in the way most urgently needed.
Quatrefoil Library’s Founders’ Society recognizes those who have included the library in their estate plans.
If you would like more information or have questions about any of these or other gift options, please contact us.
