You think your pain and your heartbreak are unprecedented in the history of the world, but then you read. It was books that taught me that the things that tormented me most were the very things that connected me with all the people who were alive, who had ever been alive. --James Baldwin

Queer Migration Series – Somatic Workshop on Migration

May 4, 2024 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm CDT

Join us at Quatrefoil Library for the second event in our series on Queer Migration!

This event will examine the ways migration directly impacts mental health! A licensed practitioner will provide psychoeducation on the trauma of having to flee your home, what to expect from your body in the weeks/months/years after it realizes you’re in a safe place, how to slowly get out of dorsal vagal shutdown.

This Saturday, May 4th, Sierra Tuck of Open Door Counseling invites you to learn a few somatic exercises to use when feeling overwhelmed, as well as connect with local mental health and queer social resources.

No RSVP required. Walk in and participate!
