Creative Writing Class for Older LGBT+ Adults with Brian Malloy

June 11, 2022 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm CDT

Creative Writing Class for Older LGBT+ Adults

Not a kid anymore? Age 50 or better? Is it time to write? Then you’re invited! Yes, YOU!

In this class for absolute beginners and experienced writers wanting a refresher, we’ll be inspired by the works of older writers, engage in user-friendly lessons on the basics, experiment with writing exercises, and draft our own original works in poetry, fiction, and personal essay.

Our class will culminate in a celebratory public reading (you are not required to participate, but we hope you will), and publication of a chapbook of our poetry, fiction, and personal essays (you are not required to submit a work for the chapbook, but we hope you will). Our instructor is Minnesota Book Award winner Brian Malloy, lecturer with the University of Minnesota Creative Writing Program, and winner of the Loft Literary Center’s Excellence in Teaching Fellowship.

Sound good? It gets even better – the class is free! You don’t have to be a Quatrefoil member to enroll, but Quatrefoil membership is also free, so why not?

Join us – you KNOW you want to!
