In this free Zoom event, Chris Stark will read from and talk about her new novel “Carnival Lights.” It’s a rich series of interconnected narratives that switches between the 1890s and the 1960s, when two girls flee their reservation for the Twin Cities. Bestselling author William Kent Krueger said the Minnesota-set novel offers “a heartbreaking portrait of multigenerational trauma in the lives of one Ojibwe family. Read it and it may change you forever.”Stark (Anishinaabe and Cherokee) is an award-winning writer, researcher, visual artist and speaker. Her first novel, “Nickels: A Tale of Dissociation,” was a Lambda Literary Prize finalist. Here’s link to Oct, 15 Zoom meeting: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/9861922720 Meeting ID: 986 192 2720
