Accessibility at Quatrefoil Library
At Q Library, we are dedicated to ensuring that all members of our community can access and enjoy our resources, programs, and space. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment and continually working to improve accessibility for individuals with disabilities.
We believe that everyone deserves equal access to information and the joy of discovery of queer stories and community.
Our Commitment to Accessibility Includes:
- Physical Accessibility:
- Entrances & Pathways: Our main entrance is equipped with a ramp and our back door is ground level. Doors do not have power assisted doors, but volunteers will happily open the doors for anyone who requires assistance. All public pathways within the Library are wide and clear of obstructions.
- Restrooms: Accessible restrooms are available with grab bars and ample turning space.
- Service Animals: Service animals are welcome in all public areas of the library.
- Parking: Accessible parking spaces are available in our back parking lot on the north side of the building.
- Digital Accessibility:
- Website: We strive to make our website accessible to all users. We aim to conform to current standards to ensure compatibility with assistive technologies like screen readers.
- Online Resources: We prioritize and actively seek out electronic resources (databases, e-books, e-audiobooks) that meet accessibility standards.
- Service Accessibility:
- Material Retrieval: Our volunteers are happy to assist in retrieving materials from shelves that may be difficult to reach.
- Information Retrieval: During open hours, Front Desk volunteers can help answer questions about the collection and provide information on services as they are able.
- Feedback & Support: We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of our library and services. Your feedback is invaluable in this ongoing process. If you encounter any accessibility barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us.
