Pandemic Poetry Open Mic, hosted by Monica K. Allen

On Saturday, November 8, 2025, Monica K. Allen (she/her) will host a FREE, Pandemic Poetry Open Mic, centering poets who are Covid bereaved, Long Covid survivors, and/or from another most-impacted community.
Event Location: Quatrefoil Library Community Room (1220 E. Lake St., Minneapolis)
Event Time: 3:00-4:30pm CT
Poets will have a 4-minute time limit including self-introduction and 1-3 poems.  (The host will announce each poet’s name to keep the flow, and will cut in at 4 minutes, so please plan accordingly.)  Up to 18 poets will read at this event and any experience level is welcome.  If there are spaces still available on November 8th, readers can signup at the event – first come, first served.
Accessibility offerings:
-N95/KF94/KN95 Masks Required.
-Masks will be available on-site for those who need one.
-One Medify Air Purifier will be running.
-Monica will speak slowly and loudly, and ask the poets to do the same.
Transportation and Parking:
-Parking lot in back of the building (north side), entrance off 13th Avenue.
-Street Parking
Please do not attend if showing symptoms of illness or if exposed to Covid/Flu/RSV in the last 7 days.
