From the 1950s to the 1970s, Corinne van Tongerloo, Marie-Pierre Pruvot, and Jill Pattirawadjme were among the dozens of women who performed at Paris’s famous trans cabarets, and who traveled to Casablanca, Morocco to access criminalized gender affirming surgery.

In 2022, Clare Boyle interviewed these women about the networks of care that made their dreams possible and kept them alive. Now, they are sharing audio from these interviews to both honor and spread the women’s stories and want to hear what you, the community, want to know more about! Our conversations will help Clare set research priorities for their upcoming book.
