SUMMARY:Speculative Catalogues: A Poetry Reading
DESCRIPTION:Join Quatrefoil Library for the final event in our Spring Poetry Series: a reading with Allison Blevins and Amie Whittemore. \nAllison Blevins (she/her) is a queer disabled writer who is new to the Twin Cities. Her newest book\, Cataloguing Pain (YesYes Books\, 2023)\, was just released this April. The book explores motherhood\, sexuality\, and queerness as it juxtaposes the author’s diagnosis of MS with her partner’s gender transition. \nAmie Whittemore (she/her) is a poet from Tennessee. She was the 2020-2021 Poet Laureate of Murfreesboro\, Tennessee\, and was named a 2020 Academy of American Poets Poet Laureate Fellow. She is the author of Glass Harvest (Autumn House Press)\, Star-Tent: A Triptych (Tolsun Books\, 2023)\, and Nest of Matches (Autumn House Press\, 2024). \nThe poets are longtime friends but will be reading together in person for the first time! A reception with light refreshments will follow the reading\, along with the sale of Allison and Amie’s most recent books and a book signing. \nTo learn more about the other events in the series visit bit.ly/SpringPoetrySeriesQLibrary2023.
