Saturday\, February 17th at 1:15pm \nBook of the month: Hide by Matthew Griffin \nIt’s a quiet winter day in the shop when Wendell first sees Frank\, a young World War II vet returned to their Southern town. The wary love that develops between them is forbidden in this time and place\, by cutting ties with the outside world\, they make a home for themselves on the far edge of town. Wendell cooks\, Frank tends the garden and tries to keep the dog from digging it up. But when old age sets in and Frank’s strength and memory start to deteriorate\, the two of them must confront the sacrifices they’ve made – the loves they never had and the one they’ll fight to keep.
