SUMMARY:Words for My Mother: A Poetry Reading and Pandemic Grief Discussion with Monica K. Allen
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, December 13\, 2025\, Monica K. Allen (she/her) will read poems from her self-published chapbook\, Words for My Mother\, two days before the five-year anniversary of losing her mom.  Kathleen L. Sloan died from Covid-19 on December 15\, 2020.  Additionally\, pandemic poetry and cancer poetry from Monica’s upcoming full-length poetry collections (in progress) will be shared.\n\nAfter the reading\, there will be a short break\, and then Monica will facilitate a Pandemic Grief Community Discussion.  Participation is optional.  Your presence for the entire event is requested even if not participating in the discussion\, to listen and learn more from the people most impacted during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.\n\n\nEvent Location: Quatrefoil Library Community Room (1220 E.
