SUMMARY:A Few Tales - Faerie & Otherwise with Patrick Scully
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Second Event in the Quatrefoil Programming Queer History Event Series! \n“A Few Tales – Faerie & Otherwise will be Patrick Scully\, on stage telling stories\, his most at-home mode – honed over decades of hosting Patrick’s Cabaret. \nMany people have told him: You should write a book. Here it comes\, but not on paper\, on stage! More storyteller than writer\, he resisted writing – too much computer time! He feels most alive and at ease telling stories\, like he did at Patrick’s Cabaret. Voila – “A Few Tales – Faerie & Otherwise”. \nThe structure of “A Few Tales…” is based on TV’s “Jeopardy”. Behind each box is a story. The audience determines the flow of the show\, choosing box by box among 6 categories\, with 5 choices in each category to determine the evening’s stories. The 6 categories across the top are things like: Resisting Authority\, Making Queer Art\, Being Gay & HIV+\, Being Naked\, Creating\nSpaces\, and Wandering. The categories at Quatrefoil will be created specifically for Quatrefoil. The vertical choices in each category – 5 decades: 70s\, 80s\, 90s\, 00s\, 10s. \nPatrick has been called a provocateur\, free speech champion\, impresario\, raconteur\, choreographer\, performance artist\, orator\, storyteller\, pioneer. And activist. He’ll be onstage telling these personal stories\, and more!

SUMMARY:Legacy Giving with John Brentall
DESCRIPTION:Legacy Giving: How naming LGBTQ+ non-profits as beneficiaries can facilitate justice and social change\n\nThere is currently around $160 trillion in wealth in the U.S.—this includes retirement assets\, property\, cash\, bonds\, and stocks. Learn how naming LGBTQ+ non-profits and other organizations working for justice as beneficiaries on assets you have can positively impact our world for decades to come. According to Funders for LGBTQ Issues\, only 0.25% of total institutional giving goes to organizations led by and for our communities. Individual choices we make can help change this disparity.\n\nThis event is the third in the Quatrefoil Programming Event Series called Investing in Us. This event is free and open to the public\, with information that will be relevant to anyone regardless of age or income.
