When her son\, Scott\, passed away in 2014\, she began writing stories about their life together through addiction and recovery in Minneapolis\, Pittsburgh\, and New York. Scott’s drag life as Miss Demeanor (Misty) in the lower East Village lead to his successful career as a makeup artist.
